The Empowerment Scholarship is a four year achievement-based award granted to one student who meets the following requirements:
- Student identifies as a woman of color
- Chapel Hill-Carrboro graduating senior with a GPA of 3.75 or higher
- Proof of admission to a four year accredited university/college
- Proven financial need.
To maintain eligibility for this four year scholarship, the student must meet the following requirements
- Maintain a GPA of 2.75
- Participate in a work study program or work part-time (100 hours per semester)
- Provide a transcript and job verification to the Public School Foundation annually
