19th Annual Walk for Education - October 10, 2015




Start thinking about how you are going to promote the Walk for Education in your school. Get creative, assemble teams, consult the website for information      and helpful tips, and ask PSF for assistance.

Come to Lincoln Center to pick up your school’s personalized Walk for Education Donor Envelopes between 11:00am-2:00pm.


“Envelope Distribution”

Tuesday, September 8, 2015


Distribute Walk materials to students.  Start entering data on spreadsheet as envelopes are returned.


“Teacher T-Shirt Count Day”

Wednesday, September 16, 2015


Each school will receive a certain number of complimentary t-shirts based on its number of staff members.  Poll teachers/staff to determine who will wear a shirt to promote the Walk at school.  You are welcome to purchase additional shirts for $10/piece.  Turn in numbers and shirt sizes by this date.


“Return Envelope Deadline”

Friday, September 25, 2015


All donor envelopes are due back to you on this date. Use spreadsheet to calculate the funds raised and the incentive tallies.

“Banking Day and Incentive Day”

Thursday, October 1, 2015


Turn in money and signed envelopes, and pick up incentives (t-shirts, wristbands and raffle tickets) at Lincoln Center from 9am-2pm.

Distribute t-shirts, wristbands and raffle tickets to students.


“Fact Sheet Distribution”

A half-page fact sheet with pertinent reminders regarding location, start time, shuttle bus schedule, etc. will be delivered to schools for distribution.


“Walk Day”

Saturday, October 10, 2015


Shuttle buses begin at 12:30 from high school parking lots to be announced.  All walkers gather at McCorkle Place on UNC campus.  Walk begins at 2pm.  Carnival runs until 6pm at Lincoln Center.
